The first half of the cycling season of 2013 has just ended. The first half of the season brought some good news for the Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador. The cyclist Contador came up with a performance that was beyond anyone’s expectation in the recently concluded Liege-Bastogne-Liege. The cyclist from Spain was believed to have a race just like an ordinary cyclist. But the Spanish showed some great character and put up a good show. The teammate of the cyclist also the winner of Amstel Gold race Roman Kreuziger finished ten minutes behind the winner.
During the race Contador was pretty much active throughout the Cote de Colonster. He was seen continuously making moves while cycling in groups. He constantly was trying to make moves in form of groups. Once he was seen to bring out an all out attack in a group of six cyclists just behind Ryder Hesjedal. If the attack lasted a bit more then surely it would have seen the Spanish cyclist go past Hesjedal. All in all the race saw the real character of Contador and made sure that he has given something for his fans to cheer for. Despite such an energetic performance he ended up 57th on the list which can never reflect his performance in the race.
At the end of the race he admitted that in the race he was feeling better and was on top of his game. He also shared his happiness of finishing the first half of the season on a high. For his success he credited his team saxo bank for the perfect support. The highly energetic performance from the Spaniard raises a few hopes for the rest of the season. Now it will be worth looking forward to the rest of the cycling season for the perfect race to the finish.
