Cycle rider Mark Cavendish’s team Omega Pharma-Quickstep have declared huge signings on the very first day of this year’s transfer window. The Manxman is set reunite with ex-lead-out cycle rider Mark Renshaw next season and his former Team Sky mate twenty six year old Rigoberto Uran.
It has been stated that the thirty nine year old Italian Alessandro Petacchi has come out of his retirement to be a part of the the team. Mark Cavendish and Mark Renshaw worked together quite at the HTC team, which is now defunct. The Aussie’s arrival is a response to Omega Pharma-Quickstep’s problems setting Mark Cavendish up for his stylemark finishing sprints. On the other hand, Rigoberto Uran will be the Belgian team’s primary contender in the overall contests of the game’s 3 Grand Tours.
The Colombian rider took over Team Sky’s leadership in Giro d’Italia when Bradley Wiggins pulled out from the event; and managed to claim 2nd behind Vicenzo Nibali of Italy. The twenty six year old climber also snatched a silver medal in 2012 Olympic Games road race in London, and could be worth backing in the future (possibly with a Three Strikes bet (check the three strikes bet terms and conditions first!)
Rigoberto Uran’s departure from Team Sky would came to beef up Richie Porte’s call to leading the UK team at next year’s Tour. Several people had thought that Uran to be handed the leader’s job for Team Sky at the Vuelta this month, but Sir Dave Brailsford mignt select to promote his other star from Colombia Sergio Henao.
In the mean time, veteran rider Petacchi begun the year with Lampre-Merida, but left the game in April. He told that to get back in the game so close to turning forty with this great team is an incredible feeling. This might take him a while to get back into a competitive rhythm, but he could not wait to get started.
